Discord is a software application that makes chatting with other gamers come into reality. It is designed to aid communication through video, text, and voice while being online. You can receive or send messages with Discord to friends across the world when you are online on your PS5. Here is how you can use Discord on PS5:
Update your PlayStation Network (PSN)
Step 1: Launch the PSN Settings. Thereafter, move to System.
Step 2: Tap on System Software, and then, System Software Update and Settings.
Step 3: Now, tap on Update System Software.
Step 4: Choose Update Using Internet.
Step 5: Click on Update to confirm your request.
Produce the requisite permissions to Discord
Step 1: Open the PSN Settings and move to Users and Accounts.
Step 2: Tap on Privacy. After that, tap on the option – View and Customize Your Privacy Settings.
Step 3: Scroll down the options and choose Your Activity.
Step 4: Choose Anyone in the box against the list – Who can see your online status and what you are currently playing.
Link your accounts
Step 1: Open Account Management.
Step 2: Go to the PlayStation Network. After that, move to Linked Services.
Step 3: Choose Discord from the list you come across.
Step 4: Follow the instructions appearing on your screen to link your account.
Step 5: To link your account on a PS5 console, go to Settings, Users and Accounts, and then, Linked services.
Step 6: To link on your account on the Discord app,
- Launch the Discord app on your Linux, Windows, iOS, macOS, the web, or Android device.
- Move to User Settings, Connections, and then, Add. Now, choose the PlatStation logo.
- In the next screen, use your PSN sign in ID with the respective password to sign in. You need to confirm that you are willing to connect to your account on Discord.
- Choose the toggle to display your PSN (PlayStation Network) ID on your profile as you are connected.
Join or start a voice chat on Discord
Step 1: Launch the Discord app on your device (PC, smartphone, or tablet).
Step 2: Sign into your account for Discord.
Step 3: Join or start a voice channel.
Step 4: Choose the Join option on PlayStation and your PS5 console from the list that appears.
Step 5: Wait until a notification pops up on the screen of your PS5 console.
Step 6: Choose the option – View Discord Voice Chat from the notification you receive on your PS5 console screen.
Step 7: Use a high-grade headset/mic to talk to other members in the Discord voice chat.
Turn the PS5 console on from the Discord application
Step 1: On the home screen, go to Settings, System, and Power Saving.
Step 2: Move to Features Available in Rest Mode.
Step 3: Turn on the option -Enable Turning On PS5 from Network.
Step 4: Wait until your PS5 console gets turned on as you choose the option to join on PlayStation and open your Discord app.
Unlink Discord from the PlayStation Network
Step 1: Go to Account Management.
Step 2: Move to Linked Services followed by PSN (PlayStation Network)
Step 3: Choose Discord to unlink your accounts.
Step 4: To unlink your accounts on a PS5 console, Settings > User Accounts > Linked Services > choose Discord.
Step 5: To unlink your accounts on the Discord app, open Discord on your device > User Settings > Connections > tap the X button > press the Disconnect button.
