Living in a house with plain white (or any solid colors) walls can make you feel dull and bored, especially when it’s been long. Change is always good and necessary, but in this case, not always affordable.
Let’s be honest; we all have some financial constraints. Not everybody can have the funds to hire an expert interior designer or a professional artist to adorn their walls with fancy murals, expensive artistic wall hangings, or statement paintings. But that does not mean you cannot decorate your walls at all.

Hang a canvas print
Hanging a canvas print (or several canvas prints) on a wall is an excellent way to make a statement out of one of your dull and lifeless walls. Make your very own china gallery wall!
It’s time to take out your china collection you have been saving for a “special” occasion that you secretly admit will not happen anytime soon. So, why let the beautiful pieces of porcelain eat dust in the cabinets? Take them out, brush off the dust and make your very own china gallery wall with them. Get some picture hangers to complement the china collection. Decorate them in your bedroom just beside the dressing table or in the drawing-room, above the fireplace. This is totally your call.
Get a pretty wall sticker, maybe?
Hear me out! Wall stickers are a great way to conceal irregularities on your walls. And you don’t just get to hide the flaws. It also makes for a great wall embellishment that is quick and easy to install compared to spilling paints for even a simple flowery pattern.
Accentuate that lonely couch in the corner!
You could create an accent wall and change the entire mood of that lonely corner with that lonely sofa. There are multiple ways to accentuate a corner wall. You can go for a bright and bold paint job. You can also opt for techniques like stenciling for making different patterns on the wall. Putting up wallpaper to create an accent is also a good idea. You can repurpose your old throw rug or a quilt and use it for a tapestry. Don’t like the rustic feel of it? Don’t worry! Depending on your interior and your taste, you can also make your very own DIY fabric wall hanging. It’s inexpensive and so much fun. And it looks great too!
Take pride in your child’s artwork!
This is definitely one of my favorite ideas! It might sound a little messy, but it’s not. Get those simple, clean, modern frames and display your child’s school art on the wall. You can arrange the frames in a ceiling-to-floor grid and give an animated touch to the space around it.
Make a simple statement with a simple paint job!
A simple hallway arch is not something noticeable. I mean, it’s just a humble passageway through a white wall, right? Well, just imagine if you paint the arch interior a bold, bright red, or maybe royal blue? How about painting a colorful and quirky mosaic lpattern inside the arch? Suddenly, the passageway feels like an entrance to a magical place!
Mirrors, mirrors on the wall!
Mirrors are a great way to accentuate a tighter spot or make a small room seem bigger. Oh, and the magical light reflecting properties of mirrors also help make the space around look brighter. Guess it’s not just Disney that has magical mirrors, eh?
Hang an oversized mirror on the wall, or you can also try hanging several smaller mirrors on a wall that gets more light.
So, you see, you don’t always need a lot of money to get the best wall décor for your home. Simple, minimalistic, and repurposing ideas can do the job too. These wall décor ideas are not only budget-friendly, but they also help add personality and mood to your space.
