In this article, we’ll be showing you “how to restore deleted files“. Let’s try to recover what we can.
- First, there are a number of different software’s you can use, I would personally recommend Recuva, which you can download free enough my entire hard drive became corrupted somehow then I probably use, ease us data recovery. Instead, which also has a free version. So here on the recovered website, we’re going to hit the download button.
- And we’ll go ahead and save the file that we’ve downloaded we can go ahead and run the install, and we’ll go ahead and simply install it.
- So then go ahead and run that. And now it’s opened up for us to the Recuva Wizard. It’s a very handy wizard that’ll just take us through the process. Hit next. So before this, we did a quick test and deleted an image from my pictures, and then removed it from the recycle bin, so we’ll be looking for a picture in this case. So hit that, and then hit next. And if the file was last in the recycle bin, then make sure you hit the recycle bin here and not anywhere else. Then we’ll hit next again. Only enable the deep scan if the previous scan to fail to find your file, otherwise, it could take a whole hour. So instead of that, we’re just going to hit start. We’ll go ahead and stand for us, and we’ll come back when it’s finished.
- Right, so the scan is finished and we have a couple of files here. They’re all renamed the weird things because the recycle bin generally does that whenever you remove a file. So We are not exactly sure what these files are, but we’ll try to recover them so hit these two checkboxes there, and then we’ll go ahead and click recover. So choose a folder here, let’s say in pictures, and we’ll create a new folder and call it recovered files, and we’ll hit OK on that, and okay there we don’t have to upgrade. And let’s see if that is done anything. All right, we are now in the recovered Files folder, and you can see we have two images here. The first one is an empty thumbnail. And it can’t open up the file, there isn’t enough recovered data. However, this is the file that we were actually testing, and we can see Reddit actually works and we can open it right up.
So just keep that in mind you may not be able to recover your file. And the longer you wait, chances are you’re probably not going to be able to recover anything at all, you’d probably be able to recover a bit more if it came from a corrupted hard drive or something from failure, rather than a manual deletion. What do you do when you accidentally delete the wrong file?
