Can you believe it, 2021 is around the corner! 2020 wasn’t a happening year for anyone. Everyone is secretly wishing the coming year brings good omen with it. Sure the pandemic isn’t cover and things seem gloomy, one thing that won’t disappoint you in 2020 after the Spectrum Internet plans (best decision I made) is the Netflix originals lineup for January 2021.
Ready to learn what’s coming? Brace yourself because I am about to reveal some interesting information.
1: Monarca
Season 2 of this show is going to release on January 1st officially.
Monarca is a Spanish language series. The stakes are higher than the previous season. The show is about the criminal underbelly in Mexico. A millionaire family gets involved in heavy corruption. You will be intrigued by the end of the show and crave for me.
2: We Can Be Heroes
This show will be released on January 1st featuring a top-tier cast. The names include Boyd Holyrood, Pedro Pascal, Taylor Dooley, Christian Slater, and Priyanka Chopra. As the name implies, it’s a family fantasy, super-hero type genera.
3: Gabby’s Dollhouse
Debuting on 5th January, Gabby’s Dollhouse is a pre-school animated series. It’s basically for kids. Join Gabby and her cat friends as they take up a new adventure in their dollhouse. The fun never stops.
4: Azizler/Stuck Apart
Coming to Netflix on January 8th, Azizler is a series with a Turkish title.
It’s a movie about a middle-aged man who is having an existential crisis and regrets losing his youth. His relationship is in crisis as well. Soon enough, he realizes that the desire to escape his life is turning him into a pathological liar.
5: The White Tiger
It’s an upcoming movie adapted from a novel with the same name. The movie has an Indian cast. It stars Priyanka Chopra, Adarsh Gourav, and Rajkummar Rao.
It is all set to premiere in theatres in December this year, but it will be available to stream on Netflix on January 22nd.
White Tiger features the story of an Indian man from a poor village and his journey to becoming a successful businessman. It portrays the struggle of people from different classes and their struggles.
6: Cobra Kai
This Netflix original is in its third season, which is all set to premiere in January 2021. Season 4 of Cobra Kai has already been confirmed, and its production begins at the beginning of 2021.
When Cobra Kai‘s first season was released, it scored a position among the top 10 best shows on Netflix. Let me give you a glimpse of the story in case you know nothing about Cobra Kai. After 34 years of Johnny Lawrence seeks redemption by reopening Cobra Kai dojo. He ends up reigniting his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso.
7: 50M2
50M2 will be released on Netflix on 27th January. It’s a Turkish season, a brand new crime drama, featuring an Engin Ozturk as the hitman who betrays his bosses’ trust. He assumes a new identity.
He takes refuge in a tailor shop where he pretends to be Adem, son of the tailor who just passes away.
8: The Dig
Starring Lily James, Cary Mulligan, Ralph Fiennes, and Johnny Flynn, The Dig is a movie that sets before world war two. A rich widow hires an archeologist for excavating her estate. The two stumble upon something that could change their lives. It would be interesting to watch how the story unfolds.
9: Lupin
It’s a retelling of a classic French story about a gentleman thief, Arsene Lupin, and his master of disguise. This classic tale is as popular as Spectrum phone number. My grandma used to tell us his stories all the time.
Lupin stars Omar Sy. If you have watched its trailer, you would be excited to learn its release date. Unfortunate, the release date is yet to be disclosed. Hopefully, it is going to be available in January 2021.
