Quran learning is an important step to be a perfect Muslim. When a Muslim decides to act upon the orders and teachings of Allah Almighty, there is a real book through which he can get knowledge given by Allah about every issue, which we face in the world.
The Quran is an important book, which helps us to keep our direction right, later it helps us to reach the doors of Paradise, which is the last wish of every Muslim. Therefore, Quran learning is a necessary step to be a perfect Muslim.
We should try our best to learn the knowledge given by Allah in the holy Quran and implement it in our practical life.
Reasons from the holy book of the Quran
We can view several reasons in the holy Quran why we need to learn the Holy Quran if we want to be a perfect Muslim. Allah has presented several reliable facts of learning the Quran for a Muslim.
Surah Al-Farqan verse no 32, Allah said in the holy book of the Quran,
‘And those who show disbelieve in the holy Quran, why is not the holy Quran descended upon him at once? It sent down in parts because we may make strong your heart, we may descend it to your gradually.’
This verse is the clear indication of the reason why we learn the Quran; it tells us that learning the Quran gives strength to your heart, we can get this strength only by acting upon the teachings of Allah Almighty, the holy Quran is based upon the teachings of Allah Almighty; therefore we need to learn the Quran.
In Surah An-Nahal verse no 89, Allah says in the Holy Quran,
‘ And we have revealed a book to you, as an exposition of everything in the universe, guidance, a grace, a mercy and glad tidings for those people who submitted themselves to Allah Almighty.’
The holy Quran is the book that was descended down by Allah almighty upon Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH so that he may guide the Muslims toward the right path, which goes straight to one Lord. It is the book, which is the guarantee of mercy and grace of Allah for Muslims. This is what this verse describes in the Holy Quran. This verse is one of the main reasons why we learn the holy Quran.
In Surah Al-Isra, verse no 82, Allah says in the Holy Quran,
‘we descend down the holy Quran such things that have mercy and healing for those who keep believing in Allah. The Quran is the holy book, which is the guarantee of mercy and healings for those who keep believing in Allah. We surely need mercy and healing in this life as well as life after death. Notably, at the Day of Judgment, we will have dire need of such type of things, which will undoubtedly save us from hellfire.
Reasons from Ahadith of the Holy Prophet PBUH
As in the Quran, there are several reasons from Ahadith of the Holy Prophet PBUH of why we learn the Quran to be a perfect Muslims. Some Ahadith are the following, which presents the reasons.
Learning and acting upon the teachings of the Holy Quran are both necessary; if one learns the Quran and does not act upon the holy Quran, it is useless. According to the present Hadith,
in which Prophet Muhammad PBUH said,’ the majority of the hypocrites will be those who will read the Quran regularly but do not act according to it. ‘
We should not only learn the Quran but also act upon the teachings of the Holy Quran so that we can achieve success in both worlds.
Acting upon the teachings of the Quran can be easily guessed by this Ahadith narrated by Hazrat Umar RA; he said,’ do not be deceived by the one who reads the Quran regularly; however, it is necessary to look at the one who acts according to it.’
Prophet Muhammad PBUH did one Hajj in his life. He gave a sermon, which was full of information about the orders of Islam. Ibn Abbas RA narrated a Hadith regarding this sermon; Prophet Muhammad PBUH said,’ O people, I leave behind things for you, if you stick firmly to it, you will never go astray, the first things is the book of the Quran and the second is Ahadith of the Prophet PBUH.’
We all know that there are two prescribed means of tracing the teachings of Allah; these two are described above. The present Hadith clearly describes if we act upon the teachings of the Quran, we will never go astray because it is the book of guidance. Moreover, we will get the grace of Allah almighty.
Abdurrahman Ibn Shabbi Ra reported that Prophet Muhammad PBUH said,’ Read the holy Quran and act according to it, do not eat with it, do not find more by using it, do not give up its teachings and do not exceed its limits.’
In the present Hadith, Prophet PBUH gave the order to learn the holy Quran and act according to it; he further told us that do not cross the limit told by the holy Quran. It means that we should act upon the teachings of the Holy Quran; neither should we exceed the limit and nor should we give up its instructions.
Conclusion
